Yes, we will be offering student scholarships this year if you are prepared to help

Last year we premiered a very successful student scholarship programme for the McIlwraith which saw 21 students attend through the generosity of members who paid for their meals.

We will be offering scholarships again this year, but before I contact the schools I need to get an idea of how many scholarships we can offer.

This initiative ensures that we engage with a young generation and that they are exposed to the ideals that we exist to foster and develop. The idea was suggested when we were only a couple of weeks out from the lecture, so it limited the number of schools that took part. By getting in earlier this year I hope we can touch more schools and more students.

Student tickets are $120 a head. If you can't come, but want to support us, sponsoring a student is a good way to do so. And there is no reason you can't also come and sponsor a student or two at the same time.

I'd also like to encourage you to bring a group of friends with you if you are coming. Out of our early bookings, three already are for tables of 10, which cost $165 a head for a two course meal plus all drinks.
