An impressive international career

cover-002

Dear ,

Our book launch of What a Capital Idea is coming around this Monday. If you haven’t already booked, please click here.

The book will be launched by Professor James Allan, who should need no introduction, but just in case he does he is the pugnacious Canadian professor of law who teaches at Queensland University having arrived here after working in a law firm in Toronto via London, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Jim is from the Pierre Poilievre take-no-prisoners school of classical liberal ideology and rhetoric (and if you’ve never heard of Poilievre, click here for another treat).

He will be launching the book and inviting the author, Christopher Reynolds to speak. Chris has himself had a varied and interesting international career. He was originally a teacher in South Australia after obtaining a BA and Dip Ed. He then studied history, political philosophy and Aboriginal Studies. Chris then obtained a Bachelor of Divinity from Melbourne University and following that studied at Claremont Graduate University in the USA for his Masters and Doctorate.

At Claremont he formed friendships with management guru Peter Drucker, and futurist Alvin Toffler and he went on to fill senior staff positions on the US Senate Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Children, Youth and Families. He wrote the first legislation for Senator Mitch McConnell (who recently retired as Republican leader in the Senate).

He received a commendation from Ronald Reagan for his “excellent work”.

Chris has been a lecturer and professor at Bond Uni, QUT and the University of Brunei. He’s also held public service positions in New South Wales and was the Executive Director of the World Trade Centre, Sydney.

For 10 years he has also been the owner and principal of a school specialising in helping children with learning difficulties . Dr. Reynolds created a program to increase children’s learning and intellectual capacity which gained recognition in the Oxford-Cambridge Guide to Global Education and Skills as among the top 200 programs in the world for innovative education.

Apart from What a Capital Idea Chris has authored 4 other books including Global Logic: The Challenge of Globalization for South-East Asian Business, Learning Development, and a book of poetry and a novel.
