Invitation to participate in our qualitative research
Dear , I can remember a few times in my life when people have been writing essays about the Liberal Party entitled “Is the Party Over”, but never a time when I’ve been writing them myself. The latest polls say that One Nation is now outpolling the Liberal Party, and when I say latest I mean this one, this one, this one, and this one. Four polls all saying the same thing can’t be dismissed. That’s why I am launching one of our semi-regular polls of Australian voting intentions today. Unlike the four above, our polls are qualitative. They don’t just ask what voters are going to do, but why. This is where the really valuable information is. Our polls are opt-in, and for some reason I’ve never sent the link out to the AIP list. That’s an oversight. If you would like to participate in our poll please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6H7KRMX. The survey is extensive and will take about 15 minutes, but we generally have between 800 and 1200 responses and it produces very valuable data. The survey is open until this Sunday at midnight. You will receive reports on the results as they are available. I know that some people on this list already participate, but others are completely unaware that we do this important work.
This is the exit poll we did after the last state election, which will give you an idea as to the detail and value of the polling. The findings are completely open source, which means that any legitimate researcher, like a university academic, or a political party representative, can get access to the data so they can examine it themselves. The only other survey on Australian politics that is open source is the Australian Electoral Study run by the Australian National University, so what we do is pretty important. Hope you can find the time to be involved. These are unprecedented times and we all need to understand better what is happening. Kind regards, Graham Young Executive Director Australian Institute for Progress
