Forgot this one, apologies to Murray Hancock and Brisbane Dialogues
Dear , We have one other friend holding a function you might be interested in.
One of our members, Murray Hancock, is the founder of the Brisbane Dialogues. Their next dialogue, which is on housing, is on Monday May 20.
Housing and housing affordability are issues that we have pursued, and they have become even more urgent over that time as governments ignore our advice, make developing more and more difficult, regulate land owners ever more onerously, try to build the dwellings themselves, and finally pump the country full of migrants.
Big Dialogues are about dialogue between a panel of people with different points of view. The "Brisbane Rule" is that they should try to find a point of agreement amongst all the disagreement.
This is what Brisbane Dialogues has to say about their next Big Dialogue.
The Brisbane Dialogues is conducting another public dialogue to demonstrate that civil, productive and even enlightening public discussions on big policy topics can still be held between experts who disagree. A Big Dialogue: Housing - What Do We Want To Achieve? 6pm for 7pm, Mon 20 May 2024 The Princess Theatre, 8 Annerley Rd, Woolloongabba The panel will be moderated by Peter Shergold AC, former Secretary of the Dept of Prime Minister & Cabinet and consists of an economist (Cameron Murray), a developer (Claire O’Rourke), a social housing advocate (Jackson Hills) and a town planner (Natalie Rayment).
