Good reading for Christmas and a book launch

Dear ,

A quick reminder of this Friday’s Christmas Party incorporating the launch of When Chairmen Were Patriots, by AIP member Elizabeth Fysh. Click here to book for the event. To pre-order the book, please click here to go to our new online book store.

Date and time of the party is this Friday, December 3, at 6:00 for 6:30 pm in our office at Unit 2B, 50 Logan Road, Woolloongabba Q 4102. (There is plenty of parking onsite).

The book will be launched by our chair Bob Tucker. What you may not know is that as the developer of Trade Coast Central, Bob gained custody of the old Eagle Farm aerodrome (as well as the remains of the old Women’s Prison, but that is another story).

He has built an interpretive centre on the site, which houses a rich aeronautical history, including the “Secrets of Hangar No. 7” where the Americans reconstructed a Japanese Zero so as to learn its secrets and win the war in the Pacific. Bob is a bit of a guru on aeronautical matters, and we couldn’t think of anyone better to do the honours.

And speaking of Christmas, it’s getting past time to organise your presents, and what better present to give, especially with a La Nina promising a wet summer, than a book.

We’ve done a deal with Connor Court and can offer their catalogue to our members. In particular we are featuring:

You can also buy When Chairmen Were Patriots online too. Elizabeth will be signing them personally this Friday night if you get in before then, even if you don't turn up.

(BTW, let me know if you find anything needs fixing on the shop. Better still, if you know anyone who has expertise in Shopify, please give them my email address.)

Regards,

GRAHAM YOUNG
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
