The mineral that made it all possible
Dear ,
Now is a good time to celebrate and think about the benefits that coal has brought our society.
Particularly with protestors blocking the streets of Brisbane, hysterically demanding that our governments do something more than they already are about global warming.
Without the benefit of coal, it is doubtful that these people would even have the luxury of spending time worrying about what might happen in the future, because energy, and most specifically, electrical energy, is the secret to our modern wealth.
In Australia coal has played a role right from the beginning, and Denis Porter has engagingly, and meticulously, tracked it.
We still have tickets available to the launch of Coal, an Australian History, tomorrow night. Look forward to seeing you there. (Admission includes food and drink.)
