Dr William Bay petition

Dear ,

We've just recently become aware that AHPRA is considering whether to suspend the registration of Dr William Bay for a protest he staged at an AMA conference in Sydney. You can read about the conference by clicking on this link which will take you to a News.com.au article that has a video of the event.

The extract from the article at the end of this email gives a number of reasons AHPRA cites for the possible suspension. I don't think any of these are good enough, particularly as what he said in the video appears to be correct.

Dr Bay is running a petition to AHPRA and I thought you might be interested in signing it. It is at https://www.change.org/p/save-dr-william-bay-s-doctor-registration.

AHPRA's grounds appear to be based on his behaviour and his refusal to follow public health guidelines.

On the first, I would say it is up to me as a patient to decide whether his behaviour is satisfactory, and that it was political in nature, which should have no bearing on his fitness to be a doctor.

On the second, there is a very good case why vaccine mandates should not have been applied, as well as that the proposition that the vaccines were "safe and effective" is obviously untrue. He should have every right to convey this and other similar facts to his patients and others, despite the official narrative.

I thought you should know about this case and that he is looking for support.

Here is the extract.

NCA NewsWire has seen a copy of AHPRA's suspension notice, which states the Medical Board believes Dr Bay's conduct "poses a serious risk to persons" and require "immediate action" to protect public health.

The board raised concerns about videos Dr Bay posted online regarding his "mistrust of vaccinations", public health measures and the health care system.

"The statements by you, as recently as June 2022, have the potential to undermine public health directives and positions in relation to the Covid-19 vaccine," the notice reads.

"This conduct is of significant concern in circumstances where you appear to be relying on your position as a registered health practitioner to lend credibility to your position."

The notice states Dr Bay's suspension was warranted as he "may have behaved in a manner that demonstrates a general absence of qualities essential for a medical practitioner.

"(These include) the ethical exercise of judgment and integrity and respect for public health directives," the notice reads.

...

"The Medical Boards' expectations of doctors about vaccination and public health predate the COVID-19 pandemic. Our code of conduct sets out the professional standards we expect," the AHPRA spokeswoman said.

"When providing information or advice, we expect practitioners to exercise their professional judgment and ensure their advice is evidence-based and in line with the latest health advice."

Regards,

GRAHAM YOUNG
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
