Prelaunch - Kingdom of the Wicked - Helen Dale (Demidenko)

Helen Dale book launch - reminder

KOTW2_6x9 WPLig Front (002)

In her first novel, Helen Dale used the nom de plume Helen Demidenko, posing as an Australian girl of Ukrainian decent, and recreating in the book WWII Ukraine - a trail  blazing cultural appropriation.

In her second novel, The Kingdom of the Wicked, she tries something much more difficult - creating a Roman society in New Testament times that has experienced an industrial revolution. It comes in two books, the second of which Order is out at the end of this month.

Helen will talk about the book, and use it as a springboard to comment on current issues, particularly from a British perspective (she currently lives in the UK). When it comes to cultural appropriation, nothing beats the West's adoption of classical culture and Christianity, and the contrasts illuminate much of what is happening in the contemporary West.
