Information about COVID-19 webinar Monday May 18

Dear

I'm looking forward to our first webinar in this series with Professor Paul Frijters. This is new to many, if not most, of us, so I'm going to give you a bit of explanation as to how to use Zoom, which is the software we are using. (If you're an old hand at Zoom, please skip those parts).

To join tomorrow's webinar, please click on this link (if it doesn't work, you might have to copy and paste it into your browser).

If you have been in a Zoom meeting before you will probably have the Zoom app installed on your computer. If you don't have the app installed it will prompt you to install it. Please do this.

We will have the Zoom room open from 5:30 pm so you have time to test your equipment and make sure that you can access it. I suggest that you also do a little reading on Zoom so you have the basics straight. This site seems to have good, straightforward  information: https://www.context.org/help/zoom-quickguide/.

The seminar will start at 6:00 pm. Professor Frijters will speak for around 45 minutes, and then we will have a question and answer session. You will be able to submit questions via either an email beforehand, or text chat during the presentation. We will need to select the questions to be asked. Where possible, if it is your question, I will allow you to ask it. But we may need to combine questions, in which case I will ask the question.

We will send you some slides tomorrow afternoon which Professor Frijters has prepared. If that suggests a question, please email me: graham.young@aip.asn.au. During the session Nicholas Umashev will be acting as producer, and he will be the gatekeeper between me and you so I can concentrate on the moderation.

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow and hearing the professor's presentation.

Regards,

GRAHAM YOUNG
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
