Wash up of last Friday's function and one for November

Thank you for coming to our function last Friday on the topic A New Generation for Nuclear. I thought Will Shackel was superb, and from the feedback that I received, so did all of you.

Normally when we have a guest speaker we give them a bottle of wine, and then we hear nothing more after the function.

I think it is a measure of Will that he sent me a brief thanks, and I thought I should share it with all of you. If you brought a guest or guests please pass it on to them, as I only have the email addresses of those who made and paid for the bookings..

I would just like to express a huge thank you to you and AIP for the event on Friday. I had a great time and was pleased to be able to meet so many like-minded people passionate about nuclear energy like me.

Our next function on November 14 will be "Australian grand strategies in a time of real and imagined wars" with Group Captain (rtd) Peter Layton PhD who has written the book Grand Strategy, copies of which will be on sale at the event.

No need to tell you that we live in a dangerous world, nor that Australia is woefully under-prepared for what might happen. We are looking to make defence a major theme next year, and this is our first sally.
