Book now for February 29

February 29 only comes around once every four years, but a book like this one has been waiting 123 years to come around once.

It needed modern technology, like the Internet, to allow Dr Christopher Reynolds to access documents almost impossible to find even 20 years ago.

In the process he has unearthed facts and documents previously never published, like the Letters Patent issued to Captain Arthur Phillip.

Political correctness pretends that history is of no consequence, but in fact it tells us where we have come from, and in the process, a lot about who we are. Unfortunately there is too much bad history, and bad history gives us the wrong answers.

"What a Capital Idea" will be launched by Tom Tate, Gold Coast mayor, on Thursday February 29.
