Apologies
Dear , . Mr apologies, I left the link to the report out of the previous email. It has not only the Australian average, but the graphs for each of the state capitals, which makes interesting reading. Some capitals are much more volatile than others, which might suggest that while, for example, Sydney is historically slightly expensive, it has the potential to trade up to being significantly more historically expensive.
The report can be downloaded from https://aip.asn.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Housing_Affordability_Index_June_2019.pdf.
Regards,
Graham Young
