Dr Jillian Spencer and Protecting Children in Gender Medicine
Dear ,
I never thought I’d be shoulder to shoulder with green Drew Hutton, but that’s “modern Australia”. In the latest outrage of “modern Australia”, Hutton has been expelled from the Greens merely for allowing people to express concerns about issues of transsexuality on his social media pages. It’s another very good reason why you should consider attending the Australian Medical Professionals Society event “Protecting Children in Gender Medicine” with Dr Jillian Spencer, the Brisbane psychiatrist suspended for her views on gender affirmation. The event is next Wednesday July 30 at 6:00 for 6:30 pm at To book click here. I was once asked by a troll on social media if this was a hill I “wanted to die on”. My response was unequivocably “yes”, not that I think I will be the one doing the dying. There is nothing more basic to the mammalian, which includes human, existence, than sex - it takes two of us with very different functions to make another one of us, and it is biological, not voluntary. You can deny a lot of reality, but that one is deeply hard-wired into us. That is evident from the reaction to Hutton’s expulsion. While Drew has been on the wrong side of a lot of scientific debates, he’s on the right one with this, and everywhere you look in the media the stories are written from just that perspective. I’ll be the MC for the event, and we will also be launching research that we conducted for the Nurses Professional Association of Queensland into Australia’s public hospital system. As with most businesses there are a few small changes that could make huge differences. Come along and find out what they are. And please don’t forget our Emancipation Day breakfast next Friday with Professor Judith Sloan - $65 for members which includes a hot breakfast. To book click here. While I’m spruiking functions, you should also know that our friends at the Samuel Griffith Society have their conference on in WA from the 22nd to the 24th of August. Two friends of the AIP – Professor Jim Allan, and Amanda Stoker MLA – will be speaking. If you’re interested you can book by clicking here. We have a discount code for AIP members which is “AIP” – to be used for the booking. If you want to book for either of their dinner functions the the code is “AIPDINNER” for either or both. Hope to see you at one or all of the Brisbane functions. Kind regards, GRAHAM YOUNG EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
