Dear ,

Matt Barrie wants you to be part of his next major public statement.

Who is Matt Barrie? Matt is one of Australia’s most successful Internet entrepreneurs and is the founder of Freelancer, an online market place for professionals who freelance with over 70 million registered users.

He’s also a well-regarded public intellectual who draws huge online audiences and takes a libertarian approach to economics.

On Thursday July 18 he will be delivering a talk on the Australian Economy called “Put another Aussie on the Barbie”, and we’ve been asked to host it. He will record the talk with his own team and will post it to the Internet. Good publicity for him, and good publicity for us. On top of that we will get the opportunity to quizz him on his prescriptions for Australia.

This will be another of our wine and antipasto events which we will hold in a new venue – the Stair Stadium in The Precinct, Level 2, 315 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley.

You’ve probably heard of Matt, but you probably don’t know how many awards he has won. His rewards for entrepreneurship are literally too many to list here, but include:

  • 2014 Smart Money named him the most influential person in information technology in Australia
  • 2015 Engineers Australia named him in the Top 100 Most Influential Engineers in Australia
  • 2016 Libertarian Society named him Libertarian of the Year
  • 2018 Macquarie University named him Alumnus of the Year in Entrepreneurship
