Reminder: Where does the economic response to COVID19 leave us? This Thursday evening

Kate Carnell and Tony Makin plot the way forward

Dear ,

Just an unrelated postscript to my previous email.

Don’t forget the webinar with Kate Carnell and Professor Tony Makin on this Thursday at 6:00 pm. To book please click here.

Kate and Tony will be discussing “Where does the economic response to COVID19 leave us?”

They’re both eminently qualified. Not only is Kate the Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, but as a former pharmacist she has been a small business proprietor herself. When you run your own business economics isn’t an abstraction, it’s your reality.

Tony Makin is a professor of economics, and one of the few prepared to take on the Keynesian consensus – that makes him a realist too. We need more like Tony as increasing numbers of economists now embrace the radical “Modern Monetary Theory”, which essentially says you can create wealth by central banks creating money which governments then spend.

It’s a seductive idea for politicians and their publics who want financial support through the COVID period without paying a price.

This is another webinar in our COVID-19 series, where we are exploring the various issues arising out of the COVID crisis which the Prime Minister now says might last until Christmas!

The seminar will start at 6:00 but our Zoom studio will be open around 10 minutes before that so you can get properly settled before it starts.

I have also dealt with the previous technical hitches that prevented the last session by ensuring there are multiple redundancies in the case of technical problems on one of our computers. So please don’t let the failure of this seminar last time stop you booking for this one.

To book just click here.

Regards,

GRAHAM YOUNG

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
