Short notice and longer notice: two great events

The truth about federation and climate change

Dear ,

We have two great functions coming-up. One on March 11, and the second on April 27.

On March 11 we will be launching Their Fiery Cross of Union a history of federation by William Coleman. William's book gets a glowing review from everyone's favourite public intellectual Henry Ergas.

Better than any other account, Their Fiery Cross of Union shatters the myths Australians have cherished about Federation. It both sets out those myths and - in gripping prose - exposes their limitations and contradictions.

The second function is less precise, so put it on your diary until we send further details We will have Benny Peiser for lunch and an evening function on April 27. Peiser is visiting from the UK and is the head of the Global Warming Policy Foundation. Set up by Baron Nigel Lawson - famous for being Thatcher's Chancellor of the Exchequer, and slightly less famous for being the father of Nigella Lawson - the GWPF is a major player in the UK arguing against the climate change extremism that is raising prices and lowering national security.

Details will come shortly.

And while you are waiting, you might like to watch this conversation I had this week with Professor Gigi Foster about COVID and the appropriate policy responses. Click here. (Unfortunately it recorded sideways, but you can patch that by locking your phone or tablets ability to rotate the screen and then hold it sideways.)

See you Friday week,

GRAHAM YOUNG
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
