Still time to book for "Sun shines bright: Lifting the lid on manmade climate models"

Smart models meet cold reality

Our seminar “Sun shines bright: lifting the lid on manmade climate models” is tomorrow at 12:00 for 12:30. It’s not too late to book, and we can also take cash or card on the day.

George Orwell once wrote: “One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool”.

Which is why the scientific method is such a powerful tool.

It doesn’t rely on even understanding an argument, just in devising a test to see whether that "thing" works in reality. If it doesn’t, then the "thing", no matter how elegant, is false.

Kesten Green and Willie Soon applied this approach to climate change models, and their verdict is that the sun, more than CO2, makes all the difference.

Global Climate Models are sophisticated mathematical arguments, built and run on computers, and more difficult to argue with than the average scientist.

But they are still subject to the same test of authenticity – are their projections true.

Kesten will lead you through the tests that he and Willie Soon applied which demonstrates that George Orwell’s aphorism applies to computers and computer scientists as well as intellectuals.
