HMS Bergbau AG sponsoring Lars Schernikau seminar
Dear ,
We've been very fortunate, and at late notice, to have a sponsor for this event, HMS Bergbau AG. As a result we've been able to reduce ticket prices to a flat $20, which is below cost, so that as many people as possible can afford to attend.
You might like to purchase a copy of Lars Schernikau's latest book, The Unpopular Truth… about Electricity and the Future of Energy. If you do that immediately via print-on-demand from Amazon it should arrive before the function and Lars will be very happy to sign any copies there on the night.
In case you missed our last email, Lars is an energy economist from Germany as well as a commodity trader and he'll be speaking at a cocktail function at Tattersall's on Wednesday July 10 at 6:00 for 6:30 pm. To book click here.
With two decades immersed in the commodity industry, Lars' journey began at The Boston Consulting Group (USA and Germany) from 1997 to 2003. He also has personal commercial experience in the industry as a co-founder, shareholder, and former board member of the supervisory board at both HMS Bergbau AG and IchorCoal NV – German-based, publicly listed, international commodity marketing and mining companies. Germany's "Energiewende" has progressed further than most country's energy transitions with reports that 58.1% of her electricity was produced by renewables in the first quarter of this year. This experience and the lessons from it should be invaluable in a country like Australia that hopes to have 82% of electricity produced from renewables in just 6 years time in 2030. Dr Schernikau's presentation will be followed by a panel discussion where he will be joined by serial mining entrepreneur Nick Jorrs, of Bowen Basin Coal, a metallurgical coal producer, and Ballymore Resources which explores for copper, gold and critical minerals in Queensland. Nick holds a Bachelor with Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Queensland, a Master of Business Administration from the University of NSW (AGSM) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA)
Date: Wednesday July 10, 6:00 for 6:30 pm Place: Tattersall's Club, 215 Queen Street, Brisbane Cost: $20 general admission. All tickets include wine and canapes Bookings: Click here.
Hope to see you there.
Regards,
GRAHAM YOUNG EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
