We've had an unprecedented response to this function, reflecting the importance of Sir Leo to the state. In fact at least three former state Labor and Liberal treasurers will be there - a mark of the extremely high regard in which he is held.
Sir Leo comes from an era when public servants served and didn't go public. So their stories are generally unknown, and the lessons they have to teach unappreciated. This will be an opportunity to hear how the public service was reformed to fit a modern state, and foreign investors were seduced to make investments that built the economy, while the Commonwealth Grants Commission was kept at bay. And much more.
