Join the Australian Institute for Progress for our major fundraiser for the year - the fourth annual Sir Thomas McIlwraith Lecture, with guest speaker Sir Leo Hielscher AC, on Wednesday evening July 18, 2018.
Sir Leo is a giant of the state with unique personal insights into the development of Queensland through a career spanning 50 years of public service. His career includes roles as Queensland Under Treasurer and Chairman of Queensland Treasury Corporation. Sir Leo has overseen the transformation of the state from a rural backwater to an agricultural, minerals and tourism powerhouse.
Each year the McIlwraith Lecture is a great opportunity to celebrate someone who has created real progress and made a major contribution to Queensland. It's also an opportunity to meet with like-minded people, and to contribute funds to the AIP, an organisation that understands that real progress comes from below, from self-motivated responsible individuals, and not from above, bestowed by government. The best bureaucrats, like Sir Leo, understand that government is an enabler, not a creator.
So please send the attached flyer to all your family and friends and encourage them to come too. AIP members get a special price, and so does a table of ten.
