Selling out fast - really
|

Dear ,
I know they all say this, but our movie premiere of "A Coral Bleaching Tragedy" with Peter Ridd and film-maker Jennifer Marohasy is selling-out fast.
Our partners at the IPA persuaded us to go for a 200 seat cinema rather than the 100 seat one we had originally booked. There's a shortage of optimism in our world, so we went with it.
Well they were right to be optimistic and we are way past 100 with just 67 seats left. When we advertise a function we generally sell as many tickets in the last week as we do in all the first weeks.
If that pattern holds true for this function, then someone is going to be disappointed. Don't let that be you!
You can book now by clicking here.
Jennifer Marohasy has been fact-checking environmental claims for over 20 years (starting with "Myth and the Murray") and "A Coral Bleaching Tragedy" is her latest instalment. We're premiering it at the New Farm Cinemas on Sunday July 24 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for AIP and IPA members. To book click here.
We will screen it with another of her documentaries "The Measure of the Great Barrier Reef" which throws light on our ability to view the reef back into history. . Jennifer, and Dr Peter Ridd, will both be at the premiere to answer your questions after the movies have screened.
As a Queensland-based think tank we are privileged to be launching these documentaries, and thank the Institute for Public Affairs for their cooperation.
Jennifer also did some great work just the other day when she located a part of John Brewer Reef that was featured in The Guardian just 3 months ago, described as severely bleached, and predicted to take up to 12 years to recover. You can see from her photos the reef wasn't listening to the experts and is back to its old healthy self already. Read her blog post here.
Regards,
GRAHAM YOUNG EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
