Does populate or perish still hold true?

Dear ,
This email is a species of the "Twofer". You know, the two-for-one offer. You can have both our next two functions for the same price, but only because the second function is free. Confused?
First I'd like to remind you of our lunch, "Population bomb or boon: how big should Australia be?". It's at the Brisbane Club on February 2, and costs $135 for members and $100 for students and concessions. To book click here.
Our academic advisor Professor Judith Sloan had an article published in the Australian two days ago which is very much on point. At our lunch you will hear prominent Queensland property developer Don O'Rorke and environmental advocate Dr Jane O'Sullivan chew down on the issue from either side.
On the next day Peter Dutton will launch The Young Menzies. This function is being run by the Robert Menzies Institute but we will be retailing the books at it, as well as cross-promoting it. This function will be free (which means you should be able to buy even more books than you normally do) and will be held starting at 11:00 am in the offices of King & Wood Mallesons in Waterfront Place. To book click here. To pre-order a copy of the book click here and select "pick-up".
What would Menzies have thought about immigration? Well, there is no doubt he favoured a bigger Australia, against the opposition of the Labor Party. During his term annual immigration averaged around 0.75% of the population, equating to an additional 190,000 immigrants each year with our current population. But that was then. What would he do now? Perhaps a conversation for both functions.
Details of the functions are:
