ARC and looking towards the future
Dear , Our last function for the year was a report on the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference, held in London, from Amanda Stoker, who was on the organising committee, and AIP directors, Campbell Newman, Dan Ryan and me, who were attendees.
We recorded the event and you can watch it on the AIP YouTube channel by clicking here.
In a variation of the story of the three blind men and the elephant - you know, where one blind man says it is like a rope, because he has the tail, another like a tree, because he has a leg, another like a leaf because he has an ear and so on - each of the four of us had a different view of what we experienced.
But hopefully it has the mass an momentum of an elephant when you put it all together.
We had over 80 people in our offices, so this was a very successful event.
If you missed it don't worry. We have a commitment from John Anderson, one of the three main organisers, to come to Brisbane for another function early in 2024. Stay tuned for details.
While you're on our YouTube Channel, you might like to look at some of the other videos we have there. I have another couple to upload, so please bookmark the site and come back.
And with Christmas on the way you might like to give us (and yourself) a present by signing-up as a member of the AIP (assuming you are not already). We have big plans for next year and need all the support we can get.
As our motto says: "The future does not look after itself". We were happy to be part of the ARC process. It is the first large international attempt to do something about focussing that future on optimistic, human-centred solutions centred on classical rights and responsibilities, and traditional institutions.
Regards,
GRAHAM YOUNG EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
