A very solid month

Dear ,

July this year was our busiest month in the three years since we have been in existence.

We had a sell-out crowd at the movie Climate Hustle, and around 100 at the third McIlwraith Lecture to hear Jamie Pherous talk about his phenomenal business success and ideas as to how Australia can and must do more.

Most importantly we released our Ten Big Ideas paper, which is our manifesto of ideas for Queensland before and beyond the next state election. Please read it and share it with your friends, and anyone else who you think can make these policies happen.

I'd like to thank CFACT for licensing us to do the Brisbane premiere of Climate Hustle, as well as donating 25 DVDs that we were able to sell as well. The function made money which we can now plough into advocacy and research projects, and it was a pleasure to meet Craig Rucker, Executive Producer and Marc Morano, Narrator.

David Drake was the driving force behind the crowd at the McIlwraith, along with a number of people who agreed to be table captains and organised and under-wrote their tables. We need to keep building this institution, so David is already looking for table captains for next year. If you're interested let me know and I will pass your details on. We should also thank sponsors Tony Dennis at Morgans and Darren De Bortoli at De Bortoli Wines for making this such a big success.

Our next event will be Friday September 1 when Tony Morris QC and AIP member Calum Thwaites, will talk about the misadventures with Section 18C and the HRC of the 4 QUT students. Calum was one of the students, and Tony Morris his barrister. This will be at the Coorparoo RSL. Please put it in your diary.

We also have a date claimer for September 5, the launch of Gary Johns' book Your Body Belongs to the Nation. This will be an evening function, exact details to be confirmed.

Gary Johns has also made two submissions to government inquiries. One on electronic cigarettes (to read click here), and one on Deductible Gift Registration. (to read click here).

Here is a list of items on our site you might like to read. See you on Friday, September 1.

If you like what we are doing please either join (click here) or donate (click here). You can also follow us on Facebook, or Twitter. We need your support.
