While there is a suspicion that some property development donations are corrupt (73 per cent), the suspicion is even higher for gaming (76 per cent) and still very high for unions (63 per cent), alcohol (60 per cent) and lawyers (51 per cent).
Donation laws should go back to drawing board – public
The legislation should be withdrawn immediately. Pushing it through on the numbers will increase public perceptions of corruption rather than decrease them.

The Israel Folau case is about more than “inclusion”. It is about religious belief, honesty, integrity, the corruption of sport by commerce, the corruption of commerce by personal interest, and the duty of individuals to stay true to their own moral code, even against overwhelming pressure.

The CCC action shows that the proposed property developer donation ban is unnecessary. The cases will demonstrate how a proper political system, subject to the rule of law, should operate in these situations.
Prosecute individuals, don’t persecute industries
If the government has evidence of corrupt donors, it should prosecute them, not persecute a whole industry - real estate - on suspicion that some of its members might be corrupt
Submission to Ruddock panel on religious freedom
Our submission was that religious belief has too much, and too little, protection and laws relating to religious freedom require a total makeover, including removal of responsibility from the states.
