Queensland Election Preview 2020
Our general findings are that, as in the 2017 election, electors are unenthusiastic about the two major parties. While they rate Labor ahead of the LNP on key issues, they harbour an on-balance desire to see LNP elected. This makes both parties’ positions fragile.
Subtle shifts in concern
Our latest polling (download from here) shows left of centre voters being more committed and unified than right of centre voters. This is partly due to the continuation of resentment at the way Malcolm Turnbull won the Liberal Party leadership.

Now an Essential Poll says 49% of Australians agree. The proportions between the parties are 60% amongst coalition voters, 40% amongst Labor voters, and what the Australian calls a “surprising” 34% amongst Greens voters.
